Date added: 03/06/2014 What is Denier You Ask?
In your search for horse blankets have you ran across the term ‘denier’? If you are like the rest of us you are probably wondering what in the world is ‘denier’. Denier, simply put, is the coarseness of the fiber from which the blanket is made. The higher the ‘denier’ number, the tougher the outer shell of the blanket will be. A denier of 600 would be considered adequate, while 800 would be middle range. If you want or need the toughest of blankets then go for a blanket with a much higher denier within a range of 1200 to 1680. I hope this helps when making your blanket selection. Stay warm!
